History
The band is the longest established marching band in Ireland having been established in 1835. The band was originally known a “Milltown Flute Band” but eventually became known as the Churchill Flute Band because of the Church Hill area of Glendermott where the band was formed. Originally a melody flute band, we became a part flute band in the early 1900s and converted to the silver Boehm system of concert pitch flute in 1971.
Parades and Concerts
The band still had an active parading schedule and regularly takes part in parades with various historical, religious and military organizations. Today we are as much known for our concert work. We regularly compete in NIBA and NBA contests as well as performing concerts for various organizations.
